Quality Lab Technician – 2nd Shift: Rock City, Illinois
Our customer in Rock City, Illinois is a manufacturer that is seeking motivated individuals to join their production team as a Quality Lab Technician on 2nd Shift. As a Quality Lab Technician you will be responsible for performing laboratory testing, monitoring product quality and food safety, and supporting compliance with customer specifications and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities of the Quality Lab Technician:
  • Performing analytical and microbiological testing on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products.
  • Conducting environmental monitoring and sanitation verification activities.
  • Maintaining accurate laboratory documentation and records.
  • Reviewing results against specifications and communicating non-conformances.
  • Supporting SQF, HACCP, GMP, and customer compliance requirements.
  • Assisting with investigations, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintaining laboratory equipment, calibration, and organization.
  • Monthly food safety audits.
  • Shipping samples for third party testing.
Quality Lab Technician Requirements and Qualifications:
Job Requirements:
  • Associate’s degree in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, Microbiology, or related field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic data entry tools.
  • Prior laboratory or food manufacturing quality experience preferred.
  • Basic understanding of food science principles and laboratory practices.
