Job description

In the HRIS Administrator role, you will play a key role in the organization as a hands-on, client-facing technical role combining deep UKG product expertise for WFM and PRO custom development, integration architecture, and consultative solution design. This position reports to the Chief Information Officer and works collaboratively with Finance, Payroll and the Office of Talent Management (OTM) while supporting organization wide leader and staff end-users.

What you will be doing:
  • Lead full-lifecycle UKG Pro and UKG Dimensions implementations, upgrades, and optimization projects.
  • Design and code custom business rules, workflows, calculated fields, pay policies, and accrual rules using UKG Pro Configuration and Dimensions WFC scripting.
  • Build and support integrations via:
    • UKG Integration Studio (Connectors, Web Services)
    • Dell Boomi / MuleSoft / Workato
    • REST/SOAP APIs, Webhook triggers, SFTP/CSV flat files
  • Develop advanced reporting using:
    • UKG Pro People Analytics, BI Publisher, Cognos
    • UKG Dimensions Analytics, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)
    • Power BI/Tableau dashboards
  • Configure UKG Pro Core HR, Payroll (US & multi-state), Benefits, Talent, Recruiting, Onboarding and UKG Dimensions Timekeeping, Advanced Scheduling, Attestation, Analytics. Writes and maintains work instructions for primary users (OTM, Finance, Payroll) and end users.
  • Execute data migrations using UKG Data Import Tool, SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), and custom ETL scripts.
  • Conduct requirements workshops, fit-gap analysis, and solution blueprinting with internal stakeholders (OTM, Finance, Payroll and IS).
  • Provide Level 3 production support, root-cause analysis, and performance tuning.
  • Ensure compliance with US payroll tax (federal/state/local), FLSA, ACA, FMLA, and data privacy (HIPAA, CCPA).
  • Acts as a primary liaison with UKG to ensure mitigation system degradations and effectively manages system upgrades.
  • Assists in the review, testing and implementation of HRIS system upgrades. Collaborates with OTM, Finance, Payroll and IS to coordinate the application of upgrades, maintaining HRIS system tables and documenting processes and outcomes.
  • Writes, maintains and supports a variety of reports or queries utilizing appropriate reporting tools and leveraging automated generation on a regular cadence to meet the needs of the organization. Develops standard and complex reports for ongoing customer needs, including reports for OTM, Finance, Payroll, Employee Health, unions and others as requested. Maintains data integrity in systems by performing audits and analyzing data.
  • Serves as a resource for primary users (Finance, Payroll, OTM and IS) staff regarding computer/technical issues such as training, troubleshooting, data collection and report generation. Researches and resolves HRIS problems, recommending solutions or alternative processes.
  • Trains and serves as a resource to employees and managers regarding use of HR Self-Service application. Develop user procedures, guidelines and documentation.
  • Works closely with Payroll and OTM in support of timely processing of all HR/Payroll changes to employee records and acts as the liaison between OTM and Payroll in troubleshooting issues within the Kronos system.
  • Validates with Payroll and OTM all employee terminations and deactivating staff in the HRIS system.
  • Performs a variety of computer and clerical functions to include composing correspondence, entering and auditing employee information and developing custom reports.
  • Utilizes A.I.D.E.T. as a communication tool in executing an exceptional service experience to employees, patients, visitors or colleagues at Island Hospital.
  • Must have demonstrated ability to interact positively with Administration, Directors, Managers, Supervisors, peers, co-workers, subordinates, patients and visitors

What you will bring to the role:
  • 5+ years hands-on configuration and development in UKG Pro and/or UKG Dimensions.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, HRIS, or related field.
  • Prior experience at a UKG partner (e.g., RSM, Deloitte, Accenture, Mercer) or UKG customer.
  • Agile/Scrum project methodology experience.
  • Expert-level proficiency in:
    • UKG Pro Calculated Fields, Business Rules, Event Manager
    • UKG Dimensions WFC Scripting (Java-based), Genies, Hyperfind Queries
    • UKG Integration Studio and API development (OAuth, JSON, XML)
  • Strong SQL (T-SQL or PL/SQL) for data validation, reporting, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with Boomi or other iPaaS platforms for UKG integrations.
  • Proven track record in US multi-state payroll configuration and year-end processing (W-2, 1099).
  • Familiarity with UKG Pro Workforce Management (WFM) and UKG Ready a plus.
  • UKG Pro Certification (Core, Payroll, Advanced Reporting) and/or UKG Dimensions Certification strongly preferred.
