Job description

ANTO

Modern Korean Dining  ·  West 32nd Street, Koreatown, New York City

NOW HIRING: GENERAL MANAGER

Position: General Manager (Full-Time)    Location: West 32nd Street, New York, NY    Start Date: August 2026 (restaurant opens early September)

Compensation: $85,000 – $120,000 base salary, plus profit-sharing incentive and performance-based bonus

About Anto

Anto is a new Korean restaurant opening in the heart of Manhattan's Koreatown on West 32nd Street in early September. We are building a restaurant rooted in authentic Korean flavors and genuine hospitality, and we are looking for a founding General Manager to lead it from day one.

The Opportunity

This is a rare ground-floor leadership role. As our first General Manager, you will open the restaurant, shape its culture, and — most importantly — build your own team. You will have full authority to recruit, hire, and develop the front-of-house staff, including captains, servers, and bartenders, and to establish the service standards that define the guest experience at Anto.

What You Will Do

•     Lead all day-to-day restaurant operations, from pre-opening setup through launch and beyond.

•     Recruit, hire, train, and manage the front-of-house team — captains, servers, bartenders, and support staff.

•     Set and uphold service standards that reflect Korean hospitality at the highest level.

•     Manage scheduling, labor costs, inventory, and vendor relationships.

•     Own the P&L: drive revenue, control costs, and deliver on financial targets.

•     Partner with the kitchen leadership to ensure seamless coordination between front and back of house.

•     Ensure full compliance with NYC Department of Health regulations, labor laws, and safety standards.

•     Build a positive, accountable team culture with low turnover and high morale.

What We Are Looking For

•     Minimum 5 years of experience as a member of a restaurant management team, ideally in a high-volume, full-service setting.

•     Deep experience with Korean cuisine and Korean restaurant operations — you know the food, the culture, and the guest expectations.

•     A proven track record of hiring and developing strong teams.

•     Outstanding interpersonal and people skills — you lead with empathy, communicate clearly, and bring out the best in your staff.

•     Strong leadership presence: calm under pressure, decisive, and hands-on during service.

•     Solid command of restaurant financials, scheduling, and cost control.

•     NYC Food Protection Certificate (or ability to obtain before opening) preferred.

•     Korean/English bilingual ability is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits

•     Base salary of $100,000 – $130,000, commensurate with experience.

•     Profit-sharing incentive tied to restaurant performance.

•     Annual performance-based bonus.

•     Daily staff meal and dining privileges.

•     The opportunity to build and lead your own team at a brand-new restaurant in NYC's most vibrant Korean dining corridor.
