Description
At Mother's Market, Kitchen Preps are key to preparing fresh, delicious meals by chopping vegetables, fruits, and assembling entrees. You'll also help manage leftovers properly to ensure food safety and freshness.
Hourly Pay: $16.90 - $20.00
Benefits: Medical, dental, vision and life insurance plus great in-store discounts
What You'll Do
  • Prepare recipes according to the Daily Prep List each shift
  • Ensure freshness and quality of all prepared foods
  • Prepare soups, cornbread, biscuits, and refill items as needed
  • Properly store and rotate leftover food to prevent spoilage
  • Test food temperatures at required intervals
  • Fill and maintain the cold line with prepared vegetables
  • Cover for cooks during breaks when necessary
  • Report any equipment or food quality issues promptly to management
  • Notify manager immediately of any product shortages
  • Follow Mother's Market safety and sanitation guidelines
  • Keep work areas clean and compliant with Health Department regulations
  • Participate in all scheduled employee meetings
  • Provide friendly, helpful customer service

What You Bring
Experience & Knowledge:
  • Some experience or training in commercial food preparation and service
  • Understanding of cooking techniques for hot and cold foods
  • Knowledge of food safety, storage, rotation, and cleaning standards
  • Familiarity with commercial kitchen equipment

Skills & Abilities:
  • Able to read, understand, and follow recipes in English

Physical Requirements
  • Stand for up to 8 hours at a time

  • Bend, stoop, kneel, and reach overhead as needed
  • Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather and temperature conditions
  • Perform multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Follow all health code requirements diligently
