Tribute Eatery & Bar in Coralville, Iowa is hiring a Full-Time Kitchen Manager to help lead our back-of-house team.

We’re looking for someone with kitchen experience who enjoys working in a busy restaurant, developing team members, and maintaining high standards for food quality and execution. This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who can support daily kitchen operations while helping create a positive, organized, and productive work environment.

As Kitchen Manager, you’ll work closely with our restaurant leadership team to coach employees, manage labor and food costs, maintain food safety standards, and ensure guests receive consistently great food.

Pay: $20/per hour and up based on experience

Kitchen Manager Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead, train, and supervise kitchen staff, including cooks, dishwashers, and other support personnel.
  • Schedule/labor monitoring, ensuring proper coverage for peak hours and special events.

  • Provide feedback to staff for improvement.
  • Ensure all dishes are prepared to the highest standards of quality, taste, and presentation, in accordance with Tribute’s standards.
  • Monitor food prep and cooking processes to ensure consistency.
  • Maintain kitchen cleanliness, organization, and proper sanitation.
  • Manage inventory levels, including food, supplies, and equipment.
  • Assist with ordering food and kitchen supplies while adhering to budget constraints.
  • Assist with tracking stock and waste, making necessary adjustments to minimize food costs and reduce waste.
  • Enforce food safety and sanitation standards, ensuring compliance with local health regulations.
  • Conduct regular inspections of kitchen equipment, ensuring all items are in proper working order.
  • Maintain a safe working environment for all kitchen staff.
  • Monitor food and labor costs, adjusting to maintain profitability.
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation and delivery of orders.
  • Address customer concerns or complaints regarding food quality or kitchen operations.
  • Maintain kitchen logs and records, including inventory, waste, and employee hours.
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • 21+ years of age or older
  • 1+ years of kitchen experience
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to lift and carry heavy items (up to 50 lbs).
  • Comfort working with heat, steam, and kitchen equipment.
