POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Cook or Kitchen Administrator, the Kitchen Porter is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary kitchen environment. This role supports daily food service operations through dishwashing, kitchen cleaning, food storage, and general kitchen assistance to ensure efficient meal preparation and service.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:ย 
  • Wash pots and pans, and store them in a clean, sanitary and orderly manner.
  • Clean and dining room, kitchen, including cupboards, shelves, racks, work surfaces, cooking equipment, refrigeration units, dishes, and utensils.
  • Clean large and small appliances and equipment including all surface areas.ย 
  • Maintain and clean grease trap.
  • Move, unpack, and store food and supplies.
  • Dispose of trash appropriately.
  • Assist in food preparation and other kitchen functions when needed.
  • Perform other required tasks at the direction of the Head Chef or Senior Center Director
