Job description

The Account Manager (AM) must possess a high degree of knowledge of the Refining industry including control valve and process filtration application requirements such as valve selection, filter and filter housing sizing, specification, and selection criteria. An understanding of industrial fluid system and fluid conditioning applications related to the refinery sector such as alkylation, isomerization, catalytic cracking, hydrotreating, sweetening, treating and blending is preferred.

The position requires ownership of assigned accounts primarily but not limited to those in the Refinery business sector and businesses directly related to the Refinery industry. The Account Manager must also effectively leverage both internal and external resources for product and customer service support, allowing the Account Manager to maximize time spent generating revenue-producing opportunities.

This role is responsible for coordinating on-site management of point-of use locations requiring the unloading, stocking, and transfer of material to appropriate shelf, bin, or rack locations. All inventory list of materials, transfers, courier documentation, cycle count, and other operational data management is required.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Drive Topline Revenue for key control valve and filtration suppliers in target accounts
  • Serve as the lead point of contact for all customer account management matters
  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting client relationships
  • Negotiate contracts and close agreements to maximize profits
  • Develop 'trusted advisor' relationships with key accounts, customer stakeholders and executive sponsors
  • Work closely with Valin Customer Service teams to ensure delivery of a World Class Customer experience with a focus on increasing customer retention rate and providing an outstanding customer experience
  • Forecast, track and clearly communicate the progress of leads and opportunities, and quarterly and annual sales objectives to internal stakeholders via the Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement Platform.
  • Develop new business with existing clients and/or identify areas of improvement to meet sales and mission-related goals
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to identify and grow opportunities within assigned accounts
  • Work closely with strategic vendors to ensure that both Valin, vendor and customer needs are satisfied.
  • Assist clients in the selection, sizing, and specification of filtration, process control, instrumentation and other Valin product groups
  • Provides technical presentations to clients related to Valin's product lines and services
  • Exhibit the strategic and tactical ability to close sales at a high success rate
  • Effective management of a sizeable number of accounts and contacts located within the assigned region along with remote account management responsibilities as defined.

Qualifications

Education, Experience, and Skills Required:

  • Engineering or business degree desired, but extensive sales experience in the industrial process control sector is also acceptable
  • Excellent organizational skills, efficient and detail-oriented
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal, to foster interaction within all levels of the organization, prospects, and customers
  • Has an exhibited depth of knowledge in customer bill of materials, engineering reports and drawings
  • Skilled in operating a personal computer and Office 365 programs
  • Capable of pursuing multiple clients and opportunities with changing priorities and deadlines
  • Valid Driver's license with ability to meet Valin's vehicle/safety policy; Commercial Driver's License (CDL) preferred but not required.

Physical Capabilities and Requirements:

  • Travel with company vehicle for point of use fulfillment
  • Lifting: May have to inspect components may need to lift-up to 45 pounds

Travel Requirement:

  • 25% overnight travel

  • 50% Travel between customer facilities

Other Requirements:

  • Must be able to secure and maintain refinery facility access through successful completion of Department of Transportation Drug & Alcohol Testing and related background check.

Compensation Details: The expected basesalaryfor this position is $80,000 - $110,000 annually, depending on experience. This position is also variable bonus plan eligible - based on specific and relevant business metrics.
