Job description

The Key Account Manager will build customer loyalty and expand business in existing large national accounts, with over 1,500 branch locations, by executing strategic initiatives and proposing solutions that add value to our nationwide customers. This position will take a consultative and holistic view across multi-department’s needs (Sales, Product Development, Customer Service, Marketing, Procurement, etc.) to maximize our customer’s experience and growth potential. This role will entail utilizing data analytics to optimize opportunities in sales growth across Kishigo’s product portfolio and industries.  You will use your passion for problem solving, creating customer value and building relationships to make an impact.

This Key Account Manager is responsible for the managing and driving sales in several multi-million large accounts across the United States:

Responsibilities:

  • Increase sales through greater penetration within existing national accounts
  • Understand customer agreements and drive all program commitments, including Marketing activities, rebates, training, etc.
  • Responsible for meeting or exceeding assigned strategic initiatives and annual sales budget(s)
  • Lead customer conversations with business level insights to establish value, create demand, determine pain points and listen to concerns.
  • Collaborate with key accounts on forecasting, fill-rate expectations, and inventory levels.
  • Develop strong relationships that go deep and wide across the key account organization
  • Present and sell product value from buyer to executive management levels
  • Negotiate customer specific and core product programs
  • Identify Good, Better, Best product alternatives in all categories
  • Accurately answer questions regarding products and their applications
  • Present product innovations to expand product portfolio at key accounts
  • Demonstrate outstanding customer service to build relationships and ensure customer satisfaction
  • Drive pricing strategies within all assigned accounts
  • Communicate and cooperate in productive manner with all departments

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma required
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business or professional selling is preferred
  • Minimum of 5+ years previous account management experience in distribution and/or manufacturing with large, national customers
  • Business acumen around accounting, P&L, margins, forecasting, performance metrics, etc.
  • Must possess strong planning, organizational and time management skills
  • Knowledge in Safety products a plus
  • Required to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Must be self-motivated and focused on continuous improvement
  • Requires outstanding customer service skills and the ability to work in a team setting with a diverse group of employees, managers and external contacts
  • Outstanding analytical, organization and executive level oral/written communication skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Previous experience with a CRM (Salesforce preferred) or SAMA software tools
  • Up to 50% of travel is required in support of customer visits, strategic planning, training, tradeshows, etc.
  • Reports to Vice President of Sales
