In this role you will get to support a high visibility Navy Program. You will lead teams in the design, development, and maintenance of complex systems. We meet customer and mission needs by leveraging cutting-edge research and technology, using small teams to rapidly get capabilities into the hands of the warfighter. What You'll be Doing: * Work closely with engineers, analysts, and other developers to brainstorm and implement creative solutions for customer needs.
* Share expertise in software development and data analytics to guide the team toward achieving program objectives.
* Take a leadership role in defining the technical direction of projects, ensuring that the team's efforts align with customer requirements and mission goals.
* Mentor junior team members, providing guidance on best practices, coding standards, and problem-solving approaches.
* Collaborate with team members to test and refine code, ensuring reliability, scalability, and performance.
* Participate in brainstorming sessions to identify innovative approaches and refine technical designs.
* Provide regular updates to team members and stakeholders, fostering transparency and collaboration.
* Ensure that the team's work directly supports the warfighter by delivering functional, reliable, and impactful solutions.
* Take pride in seeing projects through from conception to deployment, knowing that your contributions make a tangible difference. Required Qualifications: * Must have a Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility required.
* Minimum of 5+ years of software development experience with a bachelor's degree in computer science or other technical discipline (additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree)
* Experience with designing, developing, and maintaining scalable, high-performance back-end services and APIs.
* Extensive experience with modern programming languages (Java, TypeScript, JavaScript )
* Experience with creating web applications (Angular)
* Relational database development experience (PostgreSQL)
* In-depth knowledge of software engineering and programming concepts
* Strong organizational and prioritization skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative/distributed team environment Desired Qualifications: * Expertise in containerized application development and management, preferably with a strong familiarity of Docker and Kubernetes.
* Experience with asynchronous messaging frameworks, (Kafka)
* Advanced knowledge in object-oriented analysis and design techniques
* Experience with source control systems (Git, Bitbucket)
* Strong leadership skills and a desire to provide guidance to junior team members
* Familiarity with agile development principles and practices (SAFe, JIRA)
* Master of Science in Software Engineering and/or Computer Science is a plus
* An active TS/SCI is preferred
* Experience supporting Navy programs, NAVWAR, NIWC Pacific, NIWC Atlantic Security Clearance Requirement: An active Top Secret security clearance is required for this position.
