Proficiency with industry-standard tools such as Autodesk Maya, 3ds Max, or Blender, along with knowledge of game engines like Unity or Unreal Engine, is essential. Creativity, collaboration, time management, and strong communication skills set standout animators apart. These abilities ensure high-quality, engaging animations that enhance gameplay and contribute to effective teamwork in fast-paced development environments.
A Video Game Animator creates the movement and behavior of characters, creatures, and objects in video games. They use animation software to design realistic or stylized motions that enhance gameplay and storytelling. Animators often collaborate with designers, programmers, and artists to ensure smooth, visually appealing animations that fit the game's style. Position Summary:
The position is responsible for all live event production and web streaming for UNC Athletics. This includes designing, organizing, and producing various video content. The position will also contribute to the management of new media efforts. The position will work in coordination with all external units of the Athletics Department to maximize engagement across all media platforms
Job Duties:
1. Live Event Production (45%)
2. Video Content Production (30%)
3. Work with Athletics team members to create graphics and animation packages for live production events and creative content. (10%)
4. Manage and maintain video equipment inventory and connectivity. (5%)
5. Catalogue and archive videos, photos, and projects for future internal and external use. (5%)
6. Other miscellaneous duties. (5%)
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a field such as Communications, Video Production, etc., or a related field. A master's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
At least two years of experience in college athletics, sports broadcasting, or a related field. Employment as a student and/or graduate assistant will be considered.
Prefer progressive, results-oriented experience in collegiate or professional sports. Strong video production, organizational and presentation skills, familiarity with graphic design software including Adobe Suite of products, high computer literacy, and strong knowledge of social media.
Familiarity and experience with coordinating game days. Must be a self-starter, able to work independently, and enjoy creating and implementing new initiatives. Sincere commitment to working collaboratively with all constituent groups, including Athletics staff, volunteers, and University personnel. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information and/or material with discretion. Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to maintain effective relationships with staff, coaches, alumni/donors, campus and community leaders. Must be able to represent the Athletic Department in a positive manner.
