Job description

Accenture Federal Services is seeking a Jr. Systems Engineer to join our team and support our client in the Ft. Meade, MD area.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders and end-users to gather, analyze, and document business requirements and process flows
  • Translate business requirements into detailed functional specifications, use cases, and system design documents for the development team
  • Assist in the functional configuration, setup, and maintenance of PeopleSoft modules to meet business requirements
  • Participate in all phases of the testing lifecycle, including creating test plans, writing test scripts, and coordinating User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
  • Act as a primary point of contact for troubleshooting system issues, performing initial analysis, and collaborating with technical teams for resolution
  • Develop and maintain critical documentation, including functional design documents, process flow diagrams, user guides, and training materials
  • Provide ongoing functional support and training to end-users to promote system adoption and efficiency
  • Utilize SQL and PeopleSoft Query Manager to perform data analysis, generate reports, and validate data integrity
  • Assist senior analysts in identifying opportunities for process improvements and system enhancements

Here's what you need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other technical field 
  • Experience with Data analysis or visualization and tools such as Tableau
  • Experience with data organization using applications 
  • Familiarity with SQL or Oracle 

Bonus points if you have:

  • Familiarity with reading PeopleCode and SQR to understand existing system logic is a strong plus
  • Proficiency in writing SQL queries for data analysis and reporting 
  • Understanding of PeopleSoft architecture, core modules (e.g., HCM, FSCM), and navigation 
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to act as a liaison between technical and non-technical audiences
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Eagerness to learn and a strong desire to develop a deep understanding of business processes and systems analysis
