Job description

Secure IT Service Management, a division of Paragone Solutions, Inc.. is seeking an IT Infrastructure & Security Engineer to provide support in three core areas: user support, network engineering, and security operations. The role involves troubleshooting hardware and software problems, strengthening our IT environment, and playing an active part in keeping our systems secure and reliable.
Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Build, rebuild, and configure computers and virtual machines, ensuring systems are optimized for performance.
  • Configure and manage Office 365 and Azure tenants, including user and group administration.
  • Provide timely and professional remote and onsite support.
  • Perform network cleanup, reconfiguration, and maintenance to improve stability, efficiency, and security.
  • Monitor and manage system performance, proactively identifying and resolving potential issues before they impact users.
  • Provide remote and onsite helpdesk support for end users, delivering timely resolutions and clear communication.
  • Manage remote patch deployment, software updates, and system upgrades to maintain compliance and security posture.
  • Support and maintain VPN, firewall, and remote access solutions to ensure secure and reliable connectivity.
  • Work with Cisco networking equipment, including switches, routers, and access points, to support LAN/WAN infrastructure.
  • Maintain endpoint security with antivirus/EDR tools, updates, and system hardening practices.
  • Document technical processes, configurations, and troubleshooting steps to support knowledge sharing and continuity.
  • Collaborate with team members to resolve technical issues promptly and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
  • Actively pursue learning opportunities and stay current with emerging technologies to enhance individual and team capabilities.
Experience & Qualifications:
  • Minimum of five (5) years of computer and network support experience.
  • High School Diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor's degree in IT or related field preferred.
  • CompTIA A+ certification preferred (Network+, Security+, or Cisco certifications a plus).
  • Extensive experience with Office 365 and Azure tenant management.
  • Skilled in computer system and network support, including standalone systems, laptops/desktops, and peripheral devices.
  • Strong working knowledge of Windows 10/11 configuration on both virtual and physical environments.
  • Experience with remote patch management tools (e.g., SCCM, Intune, WSUS) and endpoint administration.
  • Familiarity with Cisco networking technologies, including switches, routers, and network troubleshooting.
  • Solid understanding of network protocols, TCP/IP, VLANs, VPN, firewalls, and Active Directory/GPO.
  • Previous help desk or technical support experience required.
  • Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical abilities.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical users.
  • Highly motivated self-starter with a passion for learning and adapting to new technologies.
  • Ability to perform well under pressure while managing and prioritizing multiple tasks effectively.
