This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Staff Infrastructure Security Engineer based in Netherlands.

Join a highly collaborative engineering environment where you'll play a key role in shaping the security of large-scale cloud infrastructure and modern software platforms. This position combines strategic technical leadership with hands-on engineering, allowing you to influence security architecture, automation, and best practices across multiple teams. You will work on complex infrastructure challenges, drive long-term security initiatives, and help embed resilient security principles into cloud-native environments. The role offers the opportunity to mentor engineers, collaborate with senior stakeholders, and leverage AI to enhance security workflows and engineering efficiency. If you're passionate about building secure, scalable infrastructure while making a broad organizational impact, this is an excellent opportunity to grow your career.

Accountabilities:
  • Lead the technical direction of infrastructure security initiatives across cloud-native platforms and distributed systems.
  • Design and establish secure architectural patterns, reference implementations, and automation frameworks that improve infrastructure resilience.
  • Conduct comprehensive security assessments, threat modeling, and risk analysis to identify vulnerabilities and drive effective remediation strategies.
  • Define and promote best practices for AI-assisted security engineering, enabling scalable and efficient security operations.
  • Partner with engineering teams to align security priorities with business objectives while providing technical guidance on architectural decisions.
  • Drive multi-team security programs from concept through implementation, translating complex challenges into measurable outcomes.
  • Mentor engineers, foster knowledge sharing, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.
  • Support the ongoing enhancement of infrastructure security through secure development practices and operational security initiatives.
Requirements
  • Extensive experience in infrastructure security within public cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Strong expertise with Kubernetes, container security, cloud infrastructure, and modern infrastructure security principles.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Go, Python, or Ruby, with experience developing production-grade security tools or automation.
  • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure-as-Code technologies including Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation, as well as policy-as-code and automated compliance practices.
  • Practical knowledge of applying AI technologies to improve security engineering workflows and operational efficiency.
  • Demonstrated success leading cross-functional technical initiatives and influencing engineering teams on strategic security decisions.
  • Strong understanding of security frameworks and compliance standards such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, PCI-DSS, or FedRAMP.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and mentoring skills, with the ability to explain complex security concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Benefits
  • Competitive compensation package, including equity opportunities.
  • Flexible remote work environment with location-based eligibility.
  • Flexible paid time off to support work-life balance.
  • Comprehensive health and well-being benefits.
  • Employee stock purchase program.
  • Professional growth and development budget.
  • Generous parental leave.
  • Access to employee resource groups and an inclusive, collaborative work culture.
