Position Summary...Walmart is seeking a Staff Systems and Infrastructure Engineer specializing in Information Security to design, develop, and maintain secure, scalable infrastructure solutions. This role will focus on the deployment and lifecycle management of the team's infrastructure, implementing automation for operational efficiency, and building scalable security platforms with Infrastructure as Code. You will play a key role in reducing manual operational effort by developing automation for infrastructure maintenance, enforcing configuration standards, and monitoring for configuration drift across large, distributed enterprise environments. Your expertise will contribute to optimizing reliability, availability, and security within an evolving technology environment.

  • Design and develop scalable, secure infrastructure solutions aligned with business and security requirements for remote access, email security, and web gateways.
  • Analyze system performance and nonfunctional requirements to ensure reliability, efficiency, and security.
  • Automate operational processes using scripting and configuration management tools to enhance system responsiveness.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation on deployments, processes, and standard operating procedures.
  • Build workflows to automate infrastructure maintenance and configuration management, including routine health checks, upgrades, and operational validation.
  • Use Git-based workflows and contribute to CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure code and automation tools.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement security policies and resolve infrastructure issues promptly.

What you'll bring:
  • Experience working in a large-scale enterprise network environment with strong troubleshooting skills across systems, applications, and infrastructure.
  • Experience with security infrastructure such as secure web gateways, email security tools, firewalls, and load balancers.
  • Experience automating infrastructure maintenance and operational workflows.
  • Working knowledge of Python programming, with the ability to read, understand, and modify existing code.
  • Experience with infrastructure continuous integration and continuous delivery concepts.
  • Familiarity with configuration compliance, including enforcing standards and detecting configuration drift.
  • Experience using Git for version control, including branching and collaborative workflows.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally in a large organization.
