This role is part of Blue Origin corporate functions, providing centralized support across Blue Origin business unit teams, functions, and locations.

As part of a hardworking team of strategists, you will serve as a senior individual contributor and subject matter expert, helping to build strategic focus and drive company growth for various spaceflight systems. You will independently lead complex market assessments, identify high-impact growth initiatives, and develop rigorous plans to ensure their successful execution.

We are looking for someone to apply their deep technical expertise, seasoned judgment, and unwavering commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Independently own and lead complex market research assessments and conduct advanced data analysis to guide high-stakes investment decisions and product design.
  • Develop sophisticated business cases, market sizing estimates, and pricing strategies for existing and new products, serving as the authoritative voice on strategic recommendations.
  • Partner with and influence cross-functional teams at all levels to drive robust long-term strategic advantages and near-term sales wins.
  • Lead organic and inorganic growth initiatives, including investment thesis formulation and end-to-end M&A deal diligence, from target identification through integration.
  • Serve as a senior external representative for Blue Origin at industry events, conferences, and high-visibility customer meetings.
  • Mentor and provide strategic guidance to junior strategy team members, elevating overall team capability.
  • Define and shape the strategic frameworks and methodologies used across the strategy organization.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in business, engineering, government, or related field.
  • A minimum of10 yearsof management consulting, corporate strategy experience, or a combination of management consulting and additional strategy work experience.
  • Demonstrated record of independently leading and delivering high-impact, enterprise-level strategic initiatives with minimal direction.
  • Deep, proven understanding of the national security space industry's customer and competitor dynamics.
  • Advanced market research, data analysis, and quantitative economic and financial modeling experience, with the ability to set standards for analytical rigor across teams.
  • Expert-level ability to apply and create analytical business frameworks to address highly ambiguous, complex problems.
  • Extensive experience in strategy formulation, to include consulting, product development, or investing.
  • Exceptional written and verbal executive communication skills, with a proven ability to influence senior leadership and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong ability to earn trust, build positive and professional relationships, and actively contribute to a culture of inclusion.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree (MBA, MS, or equivalent) in business, engineering, or a related field.
  • Active government security clearance:TS/SCI.
  • Deep familiarity with U.S. budgeting, appropriations, and contracting processes, particularly for government space agencies (i.e., Space Systems Command, Space Development Agency, Defense Innovation Unit, Air Force Research Laboratory).
  • Proven track record of maturing sophisticated technical products from initial concept formulation through successful customer sales at scale.
  • Extensive experience driving end-to-end inorganic growth strategy, from identifying acquisition targets through due diligence, valuation, and successful integration.
  • Recognized industry thought leader with an established network across the national security space community.

Compensation Range for:

WA applicants is $169,624.00 - $237,473.25

  • Required for certain Job Profiles: Ability to obtain and maintain Merchant Mariner Credential, which includes pre-employment and random drug testing as well as DOT physical
