Job description

Jr. Product Photographer Objective: Primarily responsible for producing high volume product photography. As an active participant in AutomationDirect's continued success, it interacts with art directors, technical writers, product managers/engineers and others to deliver quality photographs in digital format for use online, in print, and other media. Additional responsibility may include minor internal design project assignments as needed. Works independently under general supervision. Some degree of creativity and latitude is expected. This position requires in-office attendance. Responsibilities:
  • Shoot/produce high volume of product photography for use on digital media websites, manuals, catalog and advertisements
  • Manage workflow responsibility of product samples from delivery of parts through photoshoot completion
  • Light to heavy retouching of photos before delivery
  • Postproduction of photos delivered to completion in several digital formats to various end users within the company
  • Work under direction of tech leads, technical writers, and product managers/engineers for more complex shots and special projects
  • Occasional location photography assignments
  • Maintain photo studio workspace and equipment
  • Maintain inventory and backups of photo files
  • May assist with internal design projects (non-ad plan specific assignments) including, but not limited to, invitations, flyers, signs, cards, event programs, posters, business cards, testing web pages etc
Qualifications:
  • Strong computer-based skills required
  • Adobe Photoshop skills required
  • Competent in MS Office applications - specifically Outlook, Excel, and Teams required
  • Knowledge of DSLR and mirrorless camera technology preferred
  • Experience with full Adobe Creative Master Suite preferred
  • Graphic arts industry experience preferred
  • Relevant job experience in producing photography and images for online and/or print materials preferred
  • Working proficiency of Adobe Lightroom/Capture One preferred
  • Experience with MacIntosh OSX preferred
  • Experience with studio lighting systems & technique a plus
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows a plus
