Cost Accounting Assistant / Junior Cost Accountant
Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Cost Accounting Assistant to support our Cost Accountant in managing day-to-day cost controlling, inventory tracking, and manufacturing data management. This role is perfect for someone looking to grow their career in corporate finance and supply chain accounting within a dynamic manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Data Entry & Verification: Assist in daily data entry for manufacturing orders, material movements, and labor hours. Verify the accuracy of production logs against ERP system records.
  • Inventory Control Support: Help reconcile cycle count results and physical inventory audits. Track and investigate minor inventory discrepancies under the guidance of the Cost Accountant.
  • Invoice & PO Matching: Perform three-way matching (Purchase Order, Receiving Report, and Invoice) for manufacturing-related expenses and raw material purchases.
  • Reporting Assistance: Assist in preparing weekly/monthly cost analysis reports, scrap logs, and variance spreadsheets using MS Excel.
  • Administrative Support: Maintain organized digital archiving for cost records, bill of materials (BOM) updates, and audit documentation. Assist with internal and external audit preparations.
  • Other responsibilities will be assigned as needed.

Qualifications & Skills:
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration preferred (open to recent graduates with strong Excel skills).
  • 0-2 years of experience in an administrative, clerical, or accounts payable (AP) role, ideally within a manufacturing, logistics, or distribution environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel (must be comfortable with VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, and basic formulas).
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, NetSuite, or QuickBooks) is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail, highly organized, and effective at cross-functional collaboration. Able to work closely with accounting, warehouse, and production team to ensure efficient operations and accurate coordination.
  • Proven ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, and high-pressure environment.

Job Type: Temporary to Full Time (through agency)
Pay Rate: $25 - $27/hr
Work Location: temporarily San Jose, CA until move to new facility in Sunnyvale, CA in late 2026 (on-site daily)
