About the Indiana Office of Technology (IOT):

The Indiana Office of Technology provides cost-effective, secure, consistent, reliable enterprise-technology services to our partner agencies so that they can better serve our mutual customer, the Hoosier taxpayer. IOT will also act as the technology and solution enabler for the State, helping its partner agencies achieve business objectives and innovation.

Salary:

A Day in the Life:

The essential functions of this role are:

  • Supports documentation of computer security or emergency measure policies, procedures, or tests.
  • Monitors networks or systems for security breaches or intrusions. 
  • Assists in coordinating vulnerability assessments or analysis of information security systems.
  • Supports information security standards and best practices.
  • Assists with identifying or implementing solutions to information security problems.
  • Supports performance of risk assessments or execution of system tests to ensure the functioning of data processing activities or security measures.
  • Provides technical support to computer users for installation and use of security products.
  • Recommends information security enhancements to management.
  • Assists in reviewing security assessments for computing environments or checks for compliance with cybersecurity standards and regulations.
  • Performs basic troubleshooting for security and network problems.

What You'll Need for Success:

Individuals in this role should minimally be able to articulate or demonstrate the following:

  • Knowledge of security frameworks, software, operating systems, and compliance regulations.
  • Knowledge of programming languages and scripting. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail orientated with technical experience. 
  • Ability to develop and maintain information security standards.
  • Ability to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

A degree is not required.  However, High School Diploma or High School Equivalent (HSE) and 3+ years of experience applying the outlined knowledge, skills, and abilities in a similar role may be considered.  

Supervisory Responsibilities/Direct Reports:
This role may be utilized in a supervisory capacity based on agency needs.
