Job description

$40,000 Base Salary + Uncapped Performance Bonuses | Approximately $78,000 at Target

Do you enjoy meeting business owners, starting conversations with people you don’t know, and turning those conversations into opportunities?

We’re looking for an outgoing, results-driven Business Development Representative to build relationships with business owners throughout the greater Indianapolis area through networking, cold outreach, events and strategic partnerships.

This is not a sit-behind-a-desk marketing role. You’ll be out in the business community creating opportunities, with a clear goal, proven scripts and processes, and a scoreboard that shows exactly how you’re performing.

What Success Looks Like

Success in this role is measurable. You’ll be responsible for turning conversations with qualified business owners into event registrations or 2-Week Coaching Trials.

We’ll give you the messaging, scripts, tools and processes that have been developed to help you succeed. We’re looking for someone who takes ownership of their results, follows through consistently and likes knowing exactly how they’re performing.

What You’ll Do

  • Network with business owners throughout the greater Indianapolis area
  • Use our proven conversation process to engage, qualify and move business owners to a next step
  • Build strategic partnerships with organizations that serve business owners to create co-hosted events
  • Register qualified business owners for events and nurture them through attendance
  • Consistently manage prospect follow-up, CRM activities and required reporting
  • Execute event logistics and ensure a first-class attendee experience
  • Help grow and strengthen The Messy Middle business owner community

You’re Likely a Great Fit If

  • You have at least 2 years of success networking with and influencing business professionals and enjoy meeting business owners.
  • You naturally start conversations with people you don’t know, build trust quickly, and enjoy influencing people to take action.
  • You learn quickly, hit the ground running, and don’t need a lot of handholding to be successful.
  • You like clear, measurable goals and proven scripts, processes and tools that help you perform at a higher level.
  • You’re comfortable hearing “no” and create opportunities instead of waiting for them.
  • You are organized, follow through consistently, take ownership of your results, and look for ways to improve when you’re not hitting your goals.

Position Details

  • Full-time
  • Hybrid / field-based throughout the Greater Indianapolis Area
  • $40,000 base salary plus uncapped performance bonuses
  • Achieving your performance targets would result in approximately $78,000 in annual compensation, with unlimited upside potential
  • Earn $75 for each qualified business owner who attends an event
  • Earn $200 for each owner you move directly into completing a 2-Week Coaching Trial instead of an event
  • PTO, Paid Holidays & 401k

We are a small and growing team, which means there is no shortage of opportunities to learn new skills, take on additional responsibilities, and grow your career as the company grows.

If you are looking for more than just a job and want to play a meaningful role in helping business owners to Get Unstuck and Scale, we would love to hear from you.
