Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Workday Technical Developer to support, maintain, and enhance our enterprise Workday ecosystem. This role will be responsible for the full lifecycle of Workday integrations supporting both Human Resources (HCM) and Finance business functions. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical expertise with a customer-focused mindset, providing day-to-day operational support while also designing and implementing new integration solutions. This position will work closely with HR, Finance, IT, vendors, and a team of integration developers to ensure reliable, scalable, and secure data exchanges across the organization's application landscape.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES:
Integration Support & Operations
  • Provide ongoing production support for Workday integrations supporting HR and Finance business processes.

  • Monitor integration health and proactively identify, troubleshoot, and resolve integration issues.

  • Perform integration restarts, error resolution, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.

  • Respond to incidents, service requests, and production support tickets within established service level expectations.

  • Maintain integration documentation, support procedures, and operational runbooks.

  • Participate in on-call support activities as required.

Integration Development
  • Design, build, test, deploy, and maintain new Workday integrations.

  • Develop scalable and secure integration solutions using Workday-native technologies and external APIs.

  • Partner with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

  • Perform impact assessments and recommend integration architecture improvements.

  • Ensure integrations adhere to security, governance, and data privacy requirements.

Workday Technical Expertise
  • Develop and maintain integrations utilizing:

  • Workday Studio

  • Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB)

  • Cloud Connect

  • Core Connectors

  • Workday APIs

  • REST and SOAP web services

  • Reports-as-a-Service (RaaS)

  • Workday Orchestrate / Orchestration

  • Workday reporting and calculated fields

  • Support inbound, outbound, and middleware-based integration architectures.

  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to troubleshoot data exchange issues.

SDLC, Change Management & Governance
  • Follow established Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) processes.

  • Participate in solution design reviews, testing, deployment planning, and post-production validation.

  • Support release management and change control processes.

  • Create and maintain technical specifications, deployment documentation, and support materials.

  • Utilize project and service management tools such as Jira, ServiceNow, and Salesforce to manage work activities and support requests.

QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES):
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent professional experience.

  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on Workday integration development experience.

  • Strong experience supporting both Workday HCM and Workday Financials integrations.

  • Proven expertise with:

  • Workday Studio

  • Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB)

  • Cloud Connect

  • Workday APIs (REST and SOAP)

  • Reports-as-a-Service (RaaS)

  • Workday Reporting and Calculated Fields

  • Workday Orchestrate / Orchestration

  • Experience troubleshooting complex integration issues in production environments.

  • Strong understanding of XML, XSLT, JSON, web services, and API integrations.

  • Demonstrated experience supporting Workday's semi-annual release process, including release review, impact assessment, regression testing, and remediation of integration-related issues.

  • Experience working within structured SDLC and change management processes.

  • Hands-on experience using Jira, ServiceNow, Salesforce, or similar enterprise platforms.

  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Workday Certification or Workday Pro Certification.

  • Experience developing and deploying Workday Extend applications.
