Halcyon Days Consulting, LLC (HDC) is a veteran owned small business that specializes in the design and engineering of Tactical Mission Networks (TMN). This is a unique opportunity to join a small and high-performing team committed to delivering cloud platforms for exciting missions. 
HDC is seeking a Director of Information Technology to lead the company's IT strategy, infrastructure, and operations in support of corporate and mission-focused objectives. This role is responsible for ensuring secure, reliable, and scalable IT systems that support internal users, government customers, and compliance requirements within a federal contracting environment. The Director of IT will serve as a strategic partner to executive leadership while maintaining hands-on oversight of day-to-day operations. 

, Required Skills

RESPONSIBILITIES DUTIES: 

  • Develop and execute the company's IT strategy aligned with business goals, growth initiatives, and mission requirements
  • Oversee all IT operations, including networks, systems, cloud services, endpoints and enterprise applications
  • Ensure availability, performance, and security of corporate IT infrastructure and services
  • Lead IT governance, policies, standards, and procedures to ensure consistency and best practices
  • Partner with executive leadership, security, compliance, and program teams to support business and contract needs
  • Manage IT budgets, forecasting, vendor relationships, and licensing agreements
  • Oversee cybersecurity posture in coordination with Information Assurance and compliance teams supporting frameworks. 
  • Ensure IT systems support audit readiness data protection, and regulatory requirements
  • Lead, mentor and develop IT staff and managed service providers if applicable
  • Drive modernization initiatives, including cloud adoption, automation and scalability improvements
  • Serve as the escalation point for complex IT issues and incident response
  • Evaluate emerging technologies abd recommend solutions that enhance operational efficiency and security

REQUIREMENTS QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 8+ years of progressive IT experience, including leadership or management roles
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise IT infrastructure, networking, cloud platforms, and endpoint management
  • Experience in supporting secure environments and regulated industries, preferably federal contracting
  • Proven ability to develop IT strategy and translate it into executable plans
  • Experience managing vendors, budgets, and technology roadmaps
  • Strong communication and leadership skills wit h the ability to work cross-functionally
  • Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain confidentiality

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Experience operating within federal compliance frameworks such as NIST 800-171, NIST 800-53, CMMC, or FedRAMP in a government contracting environment 
  • Hand-on leadership of secure cloud environments (Azure, AWS tr hybrid architectures) supporting regulated workloads 
  • Demonstrated experience building and maturing enterprise cybersecurity programs
  • Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CCSP, or cloud architect-level credentials

SALARY RANGE: 
$100,000-$150,000
This salary range is an hourly exempt (exempt from overtime) position. Benefits are provided in addition to the salary range.
