Operations Manager

Program Summary:

Job Summary:

The Operations Manager provides leadership and oversight for day-to-day IT operations supporting Department of Defense programs. This position is responsible for managing technical personnel, ensuring operational readiness, maintaining service delivery performance, and overseeing enterprise IT operations in accordance with contractual requirements and DoD standards. The Operations Manager works closely with engineering, cybersecurity, and program management teams to ensure operational excellence, compliance, and customer satisfaction.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage daily IT operations supporting enterprise and mission-critical systems.
  • Oversee system administration, network operations, service desk activities, and operational support functions.
  • Ensure compliance with DoD cybersecurity requirements, DoD 8140.01 workforce standards, and contractual obligations.
  • Manage staffing, scheduling, operational metrics, and performance objectives.
  • Coordinate with Government customers, program management, engineering teams, and subcontractors to ensure successful mission execution.
  • Monitor operational performance, identify risks, and implement continuous process improvements.
  • Support operational planning, technical reviews, budgeting, reporting, and resource management.
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and professional development for technical personnel while promoting operational excellence and customer satisfaction.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen. Active DoD Top Secret Security Clearance required.
  • Bachelor's degree in related field.
  • DoD 8570.01-M IAM Level II Certification, PMP
  • Must meet requirements in accordance with DoD 8140.01 for System Administration Core compliance as defined within the DoD Cyber Workforce Framework (DCWF).
  • Minimum of 15 years of demonstrated experience in IT operations utilizing IT Service Management (ITSM) best practices within a Federal Government environment.
  • Minimum of 10 years of demonstrated experience serving in a senior IT management role supporting Federal Government or Department of Defense (DoD) operations.
  • Demonstrated experience leading technical operations teams responsible for enterprise IT services, system administration, network operations, and customer support.
  • Proven experience managing personnel, operational performance, service delivery, and technical resources in a mission-critical environment.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and decision-making skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting Department of Defense enterprise IT operations.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of ITIL/ITSM best practices, operational planning, cybersecurity compliance, and continuous process improvement.
  • Experience managing large-scale enterprise IT operations supporting multiple locations and mission-critical environments.

Work Location: On-site support.

Compensation: $164,335.00 - $246,560.00. The salary range posted is for Washington, DC. The offered rate will be based on contract affordability, the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities, and/or experience, and in consideration of internal parity.

Additional Compensation:

KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short-term incentives, long-term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
