Job description

Job summary
The IT Site Lead is responsible for managing daily IT operations and helping ensure the stability and security of the technology infrastructure supporting the Savage site. This role serves as the primary point of contact for IT-related activity at the site, provides hands-on support to end users, maintains local systems and equipment, and works closely with corporate IT teams to support company standards and business goals. At Savage, the role also represents the IT organization to the SVG operations team, leads local helpdesk troubleshooting, supports Intune-related asset work, and maintains awareness of the SVG computer supplies budget.
Key responsibilities
  • Oversee day-to-day IT operations at the site, including network management, server maintenance, and end-user support.
  • Provide timely technical support for hardware, software, and network issues affecting site users.
  • Manage IT equipment inventory, including procurement, deployment, tracking, and disposal of assets.
  • Coordinate site execution of corporate IT projects and initiatives in partnership with the central IT team.
  • Ensure compliance with company IT policies and security standards, including data protection and network security requirements.
  • Conduct regular audits of IT systems and infrastructure to identify risks and improvement opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for IT procedures, configurations, and support processes.
  • Manage relationships with outside vendors and third-party IT service providers supporting the site.
  • Support a culture of continuous improvement and collaborate with other departments to understand and address their technology needs.
  • Serve as the local IT representative for Savage operations and lead local helpdesk troubleshooting for the site.
  • Maintain awareness of the SVG computer supplies budget and assist with Intune project work tied to Savage assets.

Scope and responsibility
This position works under general supervision and makes decisions within defined areas, referring matters outside that scope when needed. The role cross-trains other employees and answers coworker questions, but it is not responsible for formal performance management.
Qualifications
  • 5-10 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Outlook, along with operating systems, email systems, Active Directory, data protection, mobile devices, cybersecurity, cloud computing, Windows 10, and Office 365.
  • Networking experience; Meraki experience is a plus.
  • Manufacturing experience is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, effective cross-functional communication, and a hands-on service mindset.
