Position Summary
The IT Operations Supervisor is responsible for operational IT services pertaining to their respective domain. They will lead the team and oversee day to day activities of their assigned operation. They will coordinate cross-organizationally to support changes that impact their operation, and they serve as a coach and escalation point for their teams on outages and problems. They report operational risks, and support service restoration.

This is a hybrid, week day evenings shift position located in Denver, CO, operating within a 24/7 environment that supports continuous business operations.
Essential Responsibilities

  • Operations Management: Maintain and enforce support procedures. Maintain IT knowledge base information. Oversee, measure and assess performance of services provided by the team. Report performance outcomes and risks, with recommended actions. Lead efforts to identify and deploy continuous process improvement. Serve as an escalation point for service and/or problem resolution. Forecast and manage expenses to budget.
  • Leadership: Lead and manage the performance and development of staff. Lead priorities and manage work performance of staff and managed contractors. Provide leadership as needed across multiple sites, and in alignment with Union or other contracts. Schedule resources to workload.
  • Service Lifecycle: Manage demand for services as it pertains to IT Strategic priorities. Work cross-organizationally to ensure Capital investments have proper engagement from the team for delivery and operation.
  • Subject Matter Expert: Provide expert working knowledge of respective domain to team. Stays abreast of industry and technology trends


Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Technology, Science, Business or related field, or 4 years of experience equivalent to the position.
  • Two years of prior people leadership experience.
  • Five years of related functional experience.
  • Strong communication skills, effective with varying organizational levels and skill sets.
  • Strong Relationship Management and collaboration skills, with a track record of working as one team cross-organizationally to drive innovation and business results.
  • Knowledge of technical products within the operational domain.
  • Experience effectively managing system or equipment change deployment.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple activities simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop effective working relationships with diverse work groups.
  • Able to work in accordance with service operation schedules.
  • Familiarity with ITIL and/or other formal service management practices.

Preferred Requirements

  • Preferred candidate will have experience with Incident or Event Management.
  • Technical knowledge with network systems - layers 1-7.
  • Preferred candidate will have experience coaching, training and developing their team members.
