Department OverviewAt Motorola Solutions, safety and security are at the heart of everything we do. Within our Design & Tools (D&T) organization, we focus on developing service architectures and solution designs that enable the delivery of next-generation service capabilities, "Solving for safer" across global operations.
Job Description

We are seeking a Solution Design Architect to serve in a pivotal role shaping efficient and effective service delivery for our customers. This individual will collaborate closely with Global Services Offer Management and internal CMSO stakeholders to define High-Level Designs (HLDs) that serve as strategic roadmaps for operations teams and tool product managers. The ideal candidate brings strong technical and business acumen, strategic vision, and an inclusive approach to cross-functional collaboration. Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience is valued.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Solution Architecture

  • Develop service designs and High-Level Designs (HLDs) aligned with CMSO strategic direction and Global Services goals

  • Evaluate current and future service delivery and operations processes to design innovative architectures that enhance operational efficiency

  • Offer strategic architectural guidance to Services Offer Management to help align service requests with core D&T toolsets

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Product Alignment

  • Partner with D&T Product Managers to inform product roadmaps using insights from the Offer Management demand backlog

  • Engage internal operations teams and analyze external market trends to identify organizational requirements for service capabilities

  • Prepare clear service design briefing materials for leadership to articulate operational benefits and strategic outcomes

Platform Deployment & Strategic Initiatives

  • Provide technical architectural support for customized deployments of the Local Service Management Platform

  • Support strategic project evaluations for tool selection and architecture aligned with Global Services business objectives

  • Serve as a technical consultant across teams to guide the execution of high-impact service delivery roadmaps

Job Requirements:

Technical Expertise

  • Cloud Architecture to design scalable service solutions across AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

  • ITS & CRM Platforms to leverage SaaS solutions such as ServiceNow, Salesforce, or PureCloud for service delivery

  • IT Infrastructure to integrate core networking, storage, and server technology foundations into high-level designs

Professional Experience

  • Strategic Planning to align long-term technical architectures with business and operational objectives

  • Cross-Functional Leadership to build consensus, influence outcomes, and collaborate across technical and non-technical teams

  • Technical Communication to present complex architectural concepts clearly to executive leadership and diverse stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of operational support event management platforms, such as Oracle Service Assurance or Zabbix, is a plus.

Target Base Salary Range:$115,000 -$120,000

Consistent with Motorola Solutions values and applicable law, we provide the following information to promote pay transparency and equity. Pay within this range varies and depends on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The actual offer will be based on the individual candidate.
