Job description

ISM is seeking a Quality Inspector to inspect and test parts and products throughout all stages of the manufacturing process. The position will be responsible for ensuring products meet customer specifications, quality, and testing standards. The ideal candidate will have previous experience as a Quality Inspector and be familiar with measuring tools and instruments such as Calipers, Bore Gauges, and Micrometers. The ability to use CMM, Romer Arm and Microhite is a plus, and experience with GD&T is an advantage. The ideal candidate will be familiar with raw materials and manufactured products, have attention to detail, and be able to comply with all required safety procedures and standards.


Previous experience in quality and calibration is preferred.


Full training on internal systems will be provided.


Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Ensure product compliance, identify defects and/or inaccuracies and report as necessary.
  • Conduct tests and inspect quality of product throughout the manufacturing process, including first piece inspection, in process inspection, receiving inspection and final inspection.
  • Evaluate quality and performance of product.
  • Conduct gage calibration as necessary to ensure accurate readings to meet quality, safety, and compliance standards and regulations.

Must Haves:

  • Be able to read and interpret blueprints using GD&T for dimensional requirements and tolerances.
  • Be able to use and read calipers, micrometers, comparators, Romer Arms, Micro-hites and CMMs to ensure product specifications.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Epicor ERP a plus.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs and willingness to undergo a physical examination.
  • Must be able to read and comprehend written & oral instructions in English. Must be able to read and comprehend safety rules, operating and warning instructions, procedure manuals and product label identification.
