Location: Fort Lauderdale, FL

General Description:

This position is responsible of the daily Cost Accounting functions at Parkson. The position also provides ongoing support, including monthly reconciliations, new items standard costing, cost accounting internal reports, gross margin analysis, cost of sales validation, inventory project WIP, accounting of warranty, freight, and working with the end of month closing activities.


Essential Functions:

  • New items standard costing, including subassemblies. Project WIP Inventory data manipulation, and analytical projects review.
  • Maintaining accuracy of cost elements, by matching financial results to Baan LN.
  • Preparation of monthly reports such as Hours Accounting, Freight Payments, Warranty, Customer Goodwill, and Inventory Exception Summary. Includes analytical and working with operations on corrective actions.
  • Reconciliation of Inventory, Project WIP, Production Orders, Pilots Inventory, shipped not Invoice, Deferred Revenue-COS, Freight Out, Field Services Startup, and Warranty.
  • Support Supply Chain Operations, Engineering, and Project Management.
  • Journal entries, accruals, deferrals, reclassifications, and adjustments.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or equivalent.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Cost Accounting or 7 in General Accounting.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Cost Accounting, general accounting, and manufacturing operations.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with Excel (MS Office), and good understanding on how to use Pivot Tables, and ERP Systems (Baan LN or similar).
  • Good understanding of inventory, cost of sales, project variances, T-Accounts, and Standard or Projects Costing.
  • Excellent team player, and experience with ISO9001 companies desirable.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, and ability to multi-task with a sense of urgency. Process improvement experience.
