Job description

Scheduled Hours40Position SummaryThe Supervisor of Inventory Control/Purchasing supervises the contracting, purchasing, receiving, storage and handling of materials, supplies, and outside contracted services for the Enterprise Physical Operations department on the Danforth campus, and is responsible for the oversight of the Millbrook Warehouse.
This position supervises a team of employees to provide inventory control and purchasing support for 100+ maintenance mechanics across campus zones and shops, and capital projects materials and supplies. The position is also responsible for receiving departmental invoices related to above activities, coordinating the approval process with department Directors and managers and processing invoices for payment.Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Performs and oversees all purchasing activities from purchase requisitions to coordinating approvals process, including the purchasing of materials and contracted services.

  • Operates as purchasing liaison for service contracts. Issues and manages purchase orders for all contracts, ensuring all contractors are paid timely.

  • Coordinates internal billings process. If required, bills out Internal Service Delivery Invoices to departments on campus monthly or bi-weekly.

  • Manages team, providing daily guidance and direction, assigning tasks, monitoring employee performance, providing feedback and corrective action as necessary.

  • Provides oversight for staff utilizing the work order system for materials and work order management. Assists with ensuring data integrity.

  • Interacts with other university employees from Accounting, Resource Management and all internal departments regarding procurement policies/practices, inventory control and financial accounts. Represents the purchasing/inventory control area in dealing with other facilities, campus and off-campus departments.

  • Completes fiscal year-end closing activities, including inventory auditing, timely invoice payment, and encumbrance review and adjustments.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
