Description:We are seeking an experienced SharePoint intranet consultant to lead the strategic planning, design, governance, and implementation of an enterprise intranet platform. While this role requires development and technical work, the primary focus is on strategy, organizational design, content management, and adoption rather than complex software development. The ideal candidate has built or managed an intranet platform in a previous organization and understands both the technical and organizational challenges of content management, information architecture, and employee adoption.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Define and document intranet governance policies, including content ownership, approval workflows, and maintenance processes
  • Design information architecture that organizes content logically and improves discoverability
  • Establish content management practices, standards, and publishing workflows
  • Create and implement governance frameworks that ensure quality, consistency, and compliance
  • Develop an intranet strategy aligned with organizational goals and employee needs
  • Lead adoption initiatives and drive user engagement
  • Document best practices and standard operating procedures
  • Advise on organizational structure and role definitions for intranet support

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5+ years of experience building or managing an enterprise intranet platform (SharePoint, Viva, or similar)
  • Proven experience in intranet strategy and governance frameworks
  • Strong background in information architecture and content organization
  • Experience establishing content management processes and publishing workflows
  • Demonstrated ability to drive organizational adoption and change management
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with Intranet and Content Management Systems
  • Familiarity with enterprise governance best practices
  • Background in internal communications or knowledge management
  • Experience working across multiple departments to align on processes
  • Hands-on development experience with SharePoint customization and configuration
