A well-regarded civil litigation defense firm in Chicago, Illinois is seeking a Senior Workers' Compensation Defense Attorney.

Responsibilities
- Independently manage a caseload of Illinois workers' compensation defense matters from inception through resolution
- Represent clients at arbitrations, hearings, and appeals before the Illinois Workers' Compensation Commission
- Draft and argue motions, conduct depositions, and manage all aspects of written discovery
- Develop and execute case strategy in collaboration with clients and senior attorneys
- Advise employer and insurer clients on risk management, exposure, and litigation strategy
- Mentor and supervise junior attorneys and support staff
- Maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication and regular case updates
Qualifications
- J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school
- Active Illinois Bar membership in good standing
- 5+ years of workers' compensation defense experience in Illinois
- Solid working knowledge of the Illinois Workers' Compensation Act and IWCC practice and procedure
- Experience at arbitration and before the Illinois Workers' Compensation Commission
- Strong written and oral advocacy skills
- Ability to manage a high-volume caseload with minimal supervision
- Illinois workers' compensation arbitrator certification a plus
What We Offer
The annual salary for this position is between $150,000 and $250,000. Factors which may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
