Position Details
The Athletics Department at The University of Tampa has an opening for a Part-Time Strength and Conditioning Intern.
The Strength and Conditioning Intern will assist with developing strength programs for all sports. Assist with the implementation of the strength program for UTampa Athletics through coordination with the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach. In addition, will implement necessary safety measures in weight room while conducting strength and conditioning programs.
Responsibilities
  • Designing programs: Create and implement training plans that are safe and effective
  • Evaluating athletes: Conduct sport-specific testing sessions to analyze an athlete's physical capabilities
  • Teaching: Demonstrate proper lifting techniques and advise athletes on rest and recovery
  • Educating: Provide guidance on nutrition and injury prevention
  • Collaborating: Work with other coaches, trainers, and medical staff
  • Maintaining facilities: Ensure the strength and conditioning facility is safe and well-kept
  • Maintaining records: Keep track of athletes' progress
  • Contribute to a work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with other cultures and backgrounds.

Qualifications
  • Must hold a Bachelor's degree, preferably in a related field
  • 1 to 2 years of previous internship experience at the collegiate level
  • Must have or be pursuing CSCCa's SCCC,NSCA's CSCS/USAW certifications
  • Must be CPR/AED/First Aid Certified and provide documentation
  • Knowledge of or the ability to quickly learn The University of Tampa software programs such as Workday and other relevant applications.

Pay Rate
$14.00 per hour not to exceed $10,000.
Work Schedule
No more than 29 hours per week/1000 total hours.
