K-12 Internship Opportunities:

We are excited to offer opportunities to intern in our K-12 school. Internships are designed to provide hands-on experience for college students who are passionate about education and want to make a meaningful impact. This internship is an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in working with students, teachers, and staff in a dynamic educational environment.

Position Overview:

As a Bridges Preparatory School Intern, you will assist in various educational and administrative tasks, contribute to classroom activities, and support our school community. This position is ideal for students interested in gaining valuable experience in education, child development, and teaching.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Support classroom teachers with lesson planning, instruction, and student engagement.

  • Help with administrative tasks, including organizing materials, grading, and managing classroom resources.

  • Assist in creating and implementing learning activities and educational programs.

  • Supervise students during breaks, lunchtime, and other non-classroom settings as needed.

  • Participate in meetings, professional development sessions, and training opportunities.

  • Collaborate with teachers, staff, and fellow interns to ensure a positive and productive environment for students.


Qualifications:
  • Education: Currently enrolled in a K-12 education program, or a related field (e.g., psychology, child development, or special education).

  • Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively in a team; organization and time-management skills.

  • Experience: No prior experience required (though any volunteer or related experience in a classroom setting is a plus).

  • Requirements:

    • Ability to pass a background check.

    • Commitment to the program for the full duration of the internship.

    • Reliable and punctual.


Expectations:
  • Professionalism: Interns are expected to maintain a high level of professionalism, including following all school policies and procedures.

  • Attendance: Punctuality is crucial. Interns are expected to arrive on time for all scheduled shifts.

  • Dress Code: Adhere to a business-casual dress code. Specific guidelines will be provided upon onboarding.

  • Confidentiality: Interns must maintain the confidentiality of all student information and respect the privacy of staff and students.

  • Teamwork: Be prepared to collaborate closely with both teaching staff and fellow interns. A positive and cooperative attitude is essential.

  • Feedback & Reflection: Interns will be expected to engage in regular feedback sessions and reflect on their experiences to grow professionally.


Considerations:
  • Supervision: You will be supervised by an assigned Cooperating Teacher and receive regular feedback to support your development.

  • Scheduling: Interns are expected to commit to the same hours of their assigned Cooperating Teacher for the duration of the program. Specific hours can be flexible based on academic schedules.

  • Safety & Health: Interns will follow all school safety protocols, including health and safety guidelines, including submitting a TB test.
