Nursing Curriculum Coordinator
Hondros College of Nursing
Remote/Online

The Nursing Curriculum Coordinator collaborates with the Hondros College of Nursing leadership, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), and Instructional Designers to develop and revise nursing courses and curricula. The Nursing Curriculum Coordinator provides faculty members and SMEs with course design support in creating effective and engaging learning environments informed by student learning outcomes. The role involves consulting with HCN Leadership and the course development team to identify course goals and evidence-based instructional strategies by applying the standards appropriate boards of nursing, HLC, CNEA and other required standards, including in a specific program.
The Nursing Curriculum Coordinator will also provide pedagogical training to nursing leadership and faculty through workshops, webinars, video tutorials, etc., on teaching-learning and assessment strategies, the learning management system, course design, and instructional technology integration.
Responsibilities:
Leads the Development and Maintenance of School of Nursing Courses
  • Applies instructional design principles and quality assessment techniques to create pedagogically sound learning interactions by applying and evaluating educational theory, assessment techniques, and course development for diverse.
  • Collaborates with Subject Matter Experts, nursing leadership, and Instructional Designers to develop nursing courses that are instructionally.
  • Designs a variety of assessments to demonstrate achievement of the course competencies and end-of-program student learning.
  • Conducts training and informative sessions for nursing leadership and faculty on curriculum development, mapping, crosswalks, and assessments.
  • Ensures the new and revised courses interact with current information, resources, and textbooks, seeking outside validation.
  • Coordinates the development of instructional materials that are functional, sustainable, and consistent with sound instructional design principles, including alignment of educational objectives with content, activities, and
  • Integrates respective Board of Nursing regulations and AACN's The Essentials: Core Competencies for Professional Nursing Education into the curricula.
  • Assists the Undergraduate Curriculum Coordinator with integrating respective Board of Nursing regulations and AACN's The Essentials: Core Competencies for Professional Nursing Education into the curricula.
  • Ensures that the current scope of practice and NTF Standards for Nurse Practitioners, the AONL Nurse Executive Competencies, and the NLN Core Competencies for Nurse Educators are mapped within the curricula.
  • Develop timelines for course revisions in conjunction with the Instructional Design team.
  • Maintains a listing of subject experts in all the programs.
  • Serves as a curricular expert guiding the utilization of resources available.
  • Support and contribute to Hondros commitment to diversity and inclusion.
  • The essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to, the above tasks, duties, and responsibilities consistent with the function. The employee is expected to perform all other duties as requested, directed, and assigned.

Position Requirements:
  • Minimum of five years of experience as a nurse
  • Masters of Science in Nursing or related field required
  • Active, unencumbered RN license in the state of OH required; CNE certification preferred
  • Knowledge of the various State Boards of Nursing approval
  • Knowledge of NCSBN testing guidelines, expectations, and the detailed test
  • Knowledge of nursing programmatic accreditation
  • Self-motivated, flexible, and able to work in a team environment with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent written communication, verbal communication, and presentation skills required.
