Job description

Job Overview:
Laitinen Academy is looking for a Clinical Instructor to deliver comprehensive training in Substance Abuse Counselor in Training (SAC-IT), Substance Abuse Counselor (SAC), and healthcare elective courses. This role combines clinical expertise with educational skill to develop and guide future professionals in the field. This position will average between 7-10 hours a week.
Responsibilities:
  • Curriculum Implementation: Employ the state-approved SAC-IT and SAC curriculum, along with Laitinen Academy's internal curriculum for counseling training and healthcare elective courses. Ensure methodologies are compliant, engaging, and effective.
  • Instructional Excellence: Conduct classes, workshops, and training sessions, using diverse teaching strategies to accommodate various learning styles.
  • Student Assessment and Support: Evaluate student performance, providing personalized feedback and support to enhance academic and professional development.
  • Guidance in Credentialing: Guide students through the state credentialing application process, clarifying requirements and providing necessary support.
  • Technology Integration: Utilize educational technology and software for curriculum delivery, student engagement, and administrative efficiency.
  • Professional Development and Innovation: Stay current with trends in substance abuse counseling and healthcare education. Contribute to the continuous improvement of the Academy's educational programs.
  • Collaborative Curriculum Development: Actively participate in enhancing Laitinen Academy's internal curricula for counseling and healthcare electives.
  • Creation of Training Programs: Develop training programs and curriculum for groups, individuals, and family sessions, tailored to the diverse needs of learners and the specificities of substance abuse counseling.

Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or a related field.
  • Current SAC licensure or equivalent credential.
  • Experience in clinical practice, especially in substance abuse counseling.
  • Proficient in managing both state-approved and internal curriculum for SAC-IT, SAC, and healthcare electives.
  • Skilled in using modern educational technology and software (Microsoft, Google etc).
  • Strong capabilities in communication, organization, and interpersonal relations.
