Over the next several years, the Software Developer will play an important role in supporting PeopleSoft production stability while participating in the Unified ERP Project - a multi-year initiative transitioning the University System of Georgia from PeopleSoft Financials and HCM to the Workday platform. The position will ensure continuity and reliability of existing systems while gaining exposure to Workday tools, integrations, and transition activities.

-Serve as a contributing technical member of the Unified ERP Technical Team, supporting the transition from PeopleSoft to Workday Financials, Procurement, and HCM.
-Participate in data validation, interface analysis, and system testing to ensure successful migration and integration between platforms.
-Document existing PeopleSoft integrations and data structures to facilitate accurate mapping and transition to Workday.
-Assist with limited development or integration work required for maintaining system continuity during the transition period.
-Gain exposure to Workday integration frameworks, reporting tools, and cloud-based architecture through training and project collaboration.
Technical Analysis, Documentation & Collaboration
-Analyze business requirements and translate them into functional technical solutions.
-Develop and maintain system documentation including technical specifications, configuration changes, and deployment instructions.
-Collaborate closely with DBAs, system administrators, and other developers on performance tuning, data management, and release coordination.
-Participate in code reviews, quality assurance testing, and post-deployment validation.
-Provide peer mentorship to entry-level developers and contribute to team knowledge sharing.
Continuous Improvement & Learning
-Stay current on PeopleSoft development practices, Oracle database technologies, and cloud ERP trends.
-Actively engage in professional development to build skills applicable to Workday, integrations, and data transformation.
-Recommend technical and process improvements to enhance system reliability and efficiency.
Required Qualifications
-A bachelor's degree in computer science, Management Information Systems, or a related field.
- 0-2 years of software development or technical support experience (internships or academic projects may substitute).
- Foundational knowledge of SQL, PL/SQL, or other database query languages.
- Familiarity with programming concepts and object-oriented development principles.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a technical team and follow established development standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to or coursework related to PeopleSoft, Workday, or other ERP systems.
