Description

Exciting Internship Opportunity: Part Time Property Accounting Internship at INH Property Management!

Who We Are:

INH Property Management is a dynamic, rapidly expanding full-service real estate company specializing in property management and development of multifamily apartment communities. With over 40 years of industry experience, INH currently manages more than 8,000 units across Minnesota and Iowa. We're proud of our long-standing commitment to excellence and growth, and we're looking for passionate individuals to join our journey.

Why You'll Love This Internship:

Are you looking to gain hands-on experience in accounting while working in a collaborative and growth-focused environment? This is more than just an internship - it's a chance to dive deep into the world of real estate accounting, working alongside seasoned professionals. You'll be part of a supportive team that values mentorship, skill-building, and real-world experience.

What You'll Be Doing:

As a Property Accounting Intern, you'll play a key role in the financial operations of the properties we manage. Your primary focus will be supporting our Accounts Payable operations while gaining experience in financial reporting for a portfolio of properties. This is a great opportunity to develop your accounting skills, learn industry-leading software, and contribute to real, impactful work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Invoice Processing & Payables: Assist with invoice management, processing payments on time, and working closely with vendors to resolve discrepancies.
  • Accounts Receivable Management: Analyze accounts, adjust resident ledgers, and ensure tenant payments are processed correctly.
  • Portfolio Accounting Support: Work on tenant ledger accuracy and help resolve accounting inquiries for property managers.

Requirements

Who We're Looking For:

  • Education: Currently pursuing an associate or bachelor's degree in accounting (or related field).
  • Tech-Savvy: Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, eager to learn accounting software (Yardi Voyager).
  • Detail-Oriented: Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks with accuracy.
  • Team Player: Positive, receptive to feedback, and eager to contribute to a collaborative environment.
  • Problem Solver: Strong analytical skills and a natural aptitude for working with numbers.
  • Motivated Learner: Self-starter who's curious and excited to gain hands-on experience.
  • Confidentiality: Committed to maintaining privacy and integrity in all financial matters.
  • Initial 3-Month Commitment: with opportunity for extension.

Perks of the Internship:

  • Flexible hours (~20 hours/week), with scheduling that accommodates your school commitments.
  • Competitive pay ranging from $18 to $23/hour, based on experience/college credits.
  • Opportunity to work onsite at our Waite Park, MN office and gain real-world experience with a company that's been a trusted name in the industry for decades.
