Job description

Responsible for the alignment ofย clinical servicesย withย the Model of Leadershipย and Serviceย through program design and development. Provides consultation and education inย childcareย teams and supervision to counselingย staff andย interns. Oversees the counselingย and neurofeedbackย department andย their interventions to ensureย alignmentย with the Cal Farley Model of Leadership and Service, our vision, mission,ย and approach,ย as well asย allย licensing regulationsย and COA standards.ย Provides training to Boys Ranch staff related to clinical issues.ย May provideย individual and groupย counseling,ย responsible for keeping up with currentย research and program developmentย as it relates to clinical and neurofeedback services to ensureย currentย best practices.ย ย 

  • Exhibitsย appropriate interactionย and boundaries with residents.ย 
  • Exhibits regular and punctual attendance.ย 
  • Oversees the Counselingย and Neurofeedbackย Departmentsย andย assuresย alignment ofย services with residents' Plansย Ofย Serviceย and needs.ย 
  • Oversees the Clinical Internship Programย and fosters relationships withย social work and professional counseling graduate programs across Texas to recruit quality clinical master's level interns.ย ย 
  • Provide supervision, training, and guidanceย to the Neurofeedback Specialist, Clinical Intervention Specialists,ย and counseling interns as assigned.ย ย ย ย 
  • Plan, prepare, and effectively manage budget requirements for Neurofeedbackย and Clinical Intervention Servicesย department.ย ย 
  • Maintains a progressive orientation and continuously seeks to further develop and improve youth care programming.ย 
  • Assistsย in the design,ย implementationย and evaluation of Boys Ranch clinicalย and neurofeedbackย interventions forย identifiedย residentsย in accordance withย appropriate therapeuticย practices.ย 
  • Make clinical diagnoses whenย necessaryย in order toย provideย appropriateย treatmentย recommendationsย including, but not limited to,ย interventions,ย psychotropic medicationย managementย and goal setting.ย 
  • Provides training to Boys Ranch staff related to clinical issues and challenges affecting kids in residential care as requested.ย ย 
  • Collaborates with Boys Ranch staff to assess and refer residents for external contract services, medicationย reviewsย and Planย Ofย Serviceย design.ย 
  • May attendย andย participateย in weekly team meetings for assigned clients/teams.ย 
  • Assistย in the design, facilitation and evaluation ofย Intensive Team Meetings andย assistsย in developing team-centered approaches for residents who are struggling in collaboration with the Administrator of Intervention and Adventure Services and/orย designee.ย ย 
  • Assistsย in the design,ย facilitationย and evaluation of therapeutic group processes as needed.ย ย ย 
  • Assistsย in the implementation and operation of childcare programmingย in accordance withย the Calย Farley's Model of Leadership and Service.ย ย 
  • Provides crisis intervention for residents to include the use of approved verbal and physical intervention techniques andย appropriate assessmentsย regardingย specific incidents of abuse or potential abuse involving residents.ย 
  • Assistsย in the design,ย implementationย and evaluation ofย therapeuticย Equine programsย as requested.ย ย 
  • Meet andย maintainย requirements necessary to upholdย appropriate licensingย and credentials.ย 
  • May provideย Administrativeย On-Call duties as assigned.ย 

Requirements

  1. Aย Master'sย degree from an accredited university in Social Work, Child Psychology, Counseling, Human Servicesย Administrationย or related field isย required.ย 
  2. Mustย possessย a license from the Texas State Board of Social Worker Examiners, Texas State Board of Licensed Professional Counselors, Texas State Board of Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists, Texas State Board ofย Psychologistsย or similar licensure.ย 
  3. Mustย possessย a Supervisory designation from Texas State Board of Social Worker Examiners, Texas State Board of Licensed Professional Counselors, Texas State Board of Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists, Texas State Board ofย Psychologistsย or similar licensure.ย 
  4. Intermediateย competency in Microsoft Office for Windows applications (word processing, database, spreadsheet, e-mail, presentation graphics, etc.) isย required.ย 
  5. Must be proficient in general office equipment operation.ย 
  6. Mustย possessย exceptional time management and detail-orientation skills.ย 
  7. Must be at least 21 years of age.ย 
  8. Bending, lifting, grasping, fine hand/eye coordination, pushing/pulling, prolonged sitting/standing.ย 
  9. Mustย possessย a valid Texas driver'sย licenseย
