California State Polytechnic University, Pomona invites applications for a tenure track faculty position in the Department of Finance, Real Estate, and Law (FRL). Cal Poly Pomona is one of three polytechnic universities in the 22-campus California State University system and among 12 such institutions nationwide. Student Population: Cal Poly Pomona is the number one polytechnic university in the nation for student diversity and economic mobility. College of Business Administration: Cal Poly Pomona's College of Business Administration, including the Singelyn Graduate School of Business, serves over 5,000 undergraduate and graduate students. All programs are accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) - a distinction earned by only 6% of business schools worldwide. Notably, the college, along with three other CSU campuses, holds a separate AACSB accreditation for its accounting program, placing it among the elite 3% of institutions globally with both business and accounting accreditations. Recognized by U.S. News & World Report as one of the best undergraduate business programs, the college offers eight undergraduate options as part of the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree. Department of Finance, Real Estate, and Law: The Finance, Real Estate and Law (FRL) Department offers a B.S. degree in Finance, Real Estate and Law, and an M.S. degree in Financial Analytics, serving approximately 1,000 students in the major. The success of our program results from our student-centered, inclusive environment and solid curriculum that integrates hands-on experiential learning experiences, such as financial analysis and trading experience through the use of our interactive Bloomberg terminals and the Student Managed Investment Fund (SMIF) program. Our faculty work closely with students through four award-winning student organizations: the Finance Society; the Real Estate Association; The Society of Law, Contracts, and Property; and the Bronco Investment Club (BIC).

The FRL Department provides a supportive environment for new faculty members to grow as teacher-scholars, with funding opportunities for classroom modernization and instructional innovation, as well as excellent research support through access to Bloomberg terminals, WRDS subscription including COMPUSTAT and CRSP Databases, and regular funding for conference travel. Position description: The new faculty member will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in real estate and finance. The successful candidate must also have a strong commitment to research and scholarly activities, and service to the Department, College, University and Community. Applicants whose work incorporates a global perspective and a commitment to diversity in higher education are particularly encouraged to apply.

Minimum requirements include:

• Candidates must have a Ph.D. degree in Real Estate, Finance, or a related field at the time of appointment
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with students, staff and faculty from diverse ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds
• Demonstrated potential for teaching excellence
• Demonstrated potential to publish in peer-reviewed journals
• Demonstrated potential to contribute to the excellence of the academic community through research, teaching and/or service

Preferred/Desired Qualifications:

• Evidence of developing and/or advising student-focused experiential learning activities
• Expertise in real estate
• Expertise in finance
• Previous peer-reviewed journal publications in Real Estate and Finance
• Teaching experience at university level

Finalists for the position will: 

• be required to provide official transcripts for highest degree before the on-campus interview; and
• be expected to make scholarly and teaching presentations.
