Scheurer Health-Pigeon Laboratory

Medical Technician-Medical Laboratory Technologist-

Medical Laboratory Scientist-Clinical Laboratory Scientist

Hours will vary-Includes Weekend and Holiday Rotations

40 hours per pay

Scheurer Health, a critical access rural hospital, is seeking a self-motivated and reliable MT, MLT, MLS or CLS to join our Laboratory team. This position provides information for diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease by conducting medical laboratory tests, procedures, and analyses following established guidelines and quality control standards.

Responsibilities

  • Performs all clinical laboratory procedures
  • Knowledge of Analyzer operation, maintenance and troubleshooting and perform quality control
  • Accurate examination and analysis of specimen samples
  • Careful handling of infectious material
  • Collection of blood and other specimens under aseptic conditions
  • Accurate recording of test instruments and judicious use of materials
  • Demonstrate competency in Blood Bank, Microbiology, Chemistry, Hematology, Coagulation, Urinalysis, and Phlebotomy
  • Follow hospital policies and procedures

Minimum Requirements

Medical Technologist

  • Baccalaureate degree in medical technology or related fields from an accredited institution
  • Completion of an internship program from an approved school of medical technology or school of clinical laboratory science
  • American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) MT certification, American Medical Technologists (AMT) or eligible to take MT certification exam and must be certified within one years of hire

Medical Technician

  • Associate degree from an accredited Medical Technician program
  • Completion of clinical internship
  • ASCP MT certification or eligible to take the exam and must be certified within one year of hire
