TikTok Design Team is to provide first-class user experience for hundreds of millions of users around the world, thereby helping them create and express better, discover the diversity and beauty of the world, break down more barriers, and build bridges between people. We are an international design team with Product Designer, Creative Designer, Visual Designer, Content Designer and Localization Expert from all over the world working together to make every impossible possible. As a project intern, you will have the opportunity to engage in impactful short-term projects that provide you with a glimpse of professional real-world experience. You will gain practical skills through on-the-job learning in a fast-paced work environment and develop a deeper understanding of your career interests. Responsibilities - Design user experiences for TikTok's global short-form video products, contributing to features used by millions of users worldwide. - Transform early-stage product ideas into user-centered design solutions through research, concept exploration, prototyping, and iteration. - Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Engineers, Researchers, and Data Scientists to deliver impactful product experiences. - Identify user pain points and proactively propose design improvements that enhance product usability, engagement, and satisfaction. - Track and evaluate design outcomes using qualitative and quantitative insights to continuously optimize the user experience. - Contribute to the evolution of TikTok's design standards and help shape innovative product experiences for global users.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualification(s): - Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Visual Communication, Interaction Design, or a related field. - Available to intern for at least 5 months. - Strong foundation in UX/UI and interaction design, with proficiency in design tools such as Figma. - Portfolio submission is required and must demonstrate end-to-end design thinking, interaction design, and visual design capabilities. - Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment. - Detail-oriented, proactive, and passionate about creating high-quality user experiences. Preferred Qualification(s): - Curious, self-motivated, and eager to explore emerging technologies, including AI-powered design workflows, AI tools, or AI-assisted coding ("vibe coding"). - Experience rapidly iterating on design concepts and exploring multiple solutions to user problems. - Familiarity with user research, A/B testing, data-driven design methodologies, and product optimization. - Experience creating interactive prototypes using Figma, Principle, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar design tools. - Strong visual design sense, attention to detail, and understanding of mobile design systems across iOS and Android platforms. - Active user of content creation or social media platforms, with a passion for creating, sharing, and discovering content. - Results-oriented, adaptable, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment while driving meaningful impact. - Enthusiasm for TikTok, short-form video products, creator ecosystems, and online communities.

[For Pay Transparency]Compensation Description (Hourly) - Campus Intern
The hourly rate range for this position in the selected city is $30- $30.
Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and the country work location. Interns have day one access to health insurance, life insurance, wellbeing benefits and more. Interns also receive 10 paid holidays per year and paid sick time (56 hours if hired in first half of year, 40 if hired in second half of year). Interns who are not working 100% remote may also be eligible for housing allowance.
