Job description

Summary  

We are looking for a versatile and experienced Senior Technical Sound Designer to support our audio team in creating high-quality sound effects and ambient audio and in implementing them along with music and dialogue in a dynamic game mix. This role is crucial in populating our sonic landscape and reinforcing our gameplay and cinematics and will collaborate closely with designers, artists, and other developers to enhance the overall player experience with sonically charged emotion. 

Core Responsibilities  

  • Design and implement compelling sound effects for gameplay, environments, and cinematic moments.  
  • Contribute to the creation of immersive ambient audio landscapes to bring the game world to life.  
  • Collaborate with the audio team to refine and maintain the audio style and vision for the project.  
  • Work closely with designers and engineers to ensure audio is seamlessly integrated and supports gameplay mechanics.  
  • Troubleshoot and optimize audio implementation to meet technical requirements and performance standards.  
  • Assist in defining and documenting audio pipelines and workflows for current and future development needs.  

Core Qualifications  

  • 5+ years of experience in sound design for video games, with at least one shipped AAA title.  
  • Proficiency in sound design software and DAWs (e.g., Pro Tools, Reaper, Ableton Live, Soundminer, VST plugins, etc).  
  • Advanced audio implementation skills in AudioKinetic Wwise and Unreal Engine Blueprints. 
  • A generalist mindset with the ability to contribute to various aspects of audio production, including SFX, ambiances, music implementation, VO mixing, and technical script implementation.  
  • A keen ear for detail and a passion for creating immersive audio experiences.  
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to adapt to evolving project needs.  
  • Ability to work well alone and in a team environment, remaining flexible to the changing needs of the project.

The base pay range for this position is $140,000 to $170,000 per year. Actual compensation is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
