Job description

Performs the functions of an educator, facilitator, change agent, leader, consultant, and researcher in clinical area of expertise. 
Participates in the development, implementation and evaluation of clinical orientation, competency, staff development, and continuing education programs.

Job Responsibility

1.   Maintains and evaluates educational programs, updates content for orientation, mentorship, competency, staff development and continuing education, based on current evidenced-based practice.  Ensures compliance with local, regional, state, and national standards and guidelines for education.
2.   Creates an effective learning environment and leverages technological resources. Implements a variety of teaching strategies tailored to the learner's characteristics, learning needs, cultural and generational perspectives, and outcome objectives.
3.   Reports on outcomes of all educational series. Conducts surveys to gather feedback to improve future educational coursework and demonstrate program effectiveness. 
4.   Assists in making recommendations to senior leadership in the analysis and oversight of programs.
5.   Develops and submits program evaluations, regulatory and accreditation reports
6.   Collaborates, and maintains professional liaison, with internal and external groups.
7.   Maintain certification and continuing education records.
8.   May assist team members participating in applicable internal Clinical development programs.
9.   May collaborate with discipline specific leaders to develop and coordinate intern  and fellowship programs.  
10. Collaborates with department leaders on quality and performance improvement projects related to clinical education initiatives.
11.  Advocates for the professional development programs that support the needs of the learner and the organization.
12.  Participates in, and collaborates with, internal and external research initiatives.  Performs literature searches and reviews; analyzes and summarizes relevant material.
 

Job Qualification

  • Bachelors Degree in healthcare, or related field, required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience. Master's preferred.
  • All licensures and certifications needed for function and level, if required
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience, required.
  • Teaching experience preferred. Experience with NAACLS accreditation and academic program development.
