Emergency-CL Attending Psychiatrist
South Shore University Hospital – Bay Shore, New York

Northwell Health’s Behavioral Health Service Line is recruiting a full-time or part-time BE/BC Emergency/CL Psychiatrist at South Shore University Hospital located in Bay Shore, New York.

South Shore University Hospital is Northwell’s rapidly expanding tertiary care hospital in the Eastern Region with a recent $600 million investment as part of its transformation: with centers of excellence in heart and lung, neuroscience, neurosurgery, and maternity care. The renovated Emergency Department contains a state-of-the-art locked psychiatric wing built to CPEP specifications, with a multidisciplinary team including social work support.

About the Role:

  1. ED coverage in dedicated 6-bed Psych ED and provision of consults to medical floors
  2. Schedule: Monday-Friday 9a-5p, no nights or weekends required
  3. Part-time positions also available (2-3 days per week)
  4. All consults: no inpatient or outpatient responsibilities
  5. Full time Psychiatric NPs and PAs
  6. Opportunity to supervise/teach students
  7. New Psychiatry residency program (with South Oaks Hospital) to commence 2027
  8. A great schedule and fantastic department!

Requirements:

  1. Must be BC/BE and licensed in NYS
  2. Superior computer and EHR skills, Emergency Psychiatry or CL experience preferred.
  3. Must be able to assess ED and CL patients of all ages
