Job description

The Austin Peay State University School of Nursing is seeking qualified part-time Instructors to teach various Master's level, online nursing courses. Each course in the curriculum has been developed and approved by the MSN curriculum committee. Courses taught meet the requirements for Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) and Nurse Education concentrations. Availability of teaching assignments vary based on each semester's enrollment. 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities 

Part-time Instructors manage student progress, grade course assignments in timely manner, and actively engage with students online or by other methods to assist the student in achieving course outcomes. 

Physical Requirements 

Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. 

Required Minimum Qualifications 

- Doctoral degree with MSN in Nursing; 

- Unencumbered licensure as a RN in Tennessee or compact state; 

- A minimum of 3 years nursing practice or 3 years in the area of expertise. 

- FNP Certification and licensure as an Advanced Practice Nurse in TN preferred for certain clinical courses; 

- Adult FNP and/or Psychiatric Mental Health NP acceptable. 

- A background search will be required of the successful applicant.

The number of adjunct instructors hired varies from semester to semester, depending upon the needs of the department.
