Job description

Inova Health is seeking an accomplished and visionary healthcare executive to serve as President of Inova Loudoun Hospital, a nationally recognized hospital serving one of the fastest-growing communities in the United States.

As a senior member of Inova Health's leadership team, the President provides strategic, operational, financial, and cultural leadership for the hospital while operating within Inova's highly integrated matrix model. The President is responsible for advancing Inova's mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities, ensuring exceptional clinical quality, patient experience, operational performance, and team member engagement.

Reporting to the Chief, Clinical Enterprise Operations, the President serves as the senior executive leader for the hospital, partnering closely with service line leaders, physicians, nurses, operational leaders, and community stakeholders to advance healthcare delivery across Loudoun County and the greater Northern Virginia region.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic & Operational Leadership

  • Align hospital operations and priorities with Inova's mission, vision, values, and enterprise strategy.
  • Lead the management and continuous improvement of the hospital to achieve exceptional quality, safety, service, and financial performance.
  • Mobilize hospital team members and provider partners to actively contribute to Inova's strategic objectives and care imperatives.
  • Establish a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Set the tone and provide leadership for the hospital's culture, engagement, and workplace experience.

Partnership & Matrix Leadership

  • Partner with Inova service line leaders to operationalize enterprise strategies and achieve shared goals.
  • Drive execution of key performance indicators and organizational priorities through collaborative leadership.
  • Support market growth, access initiatives, and service line expansion opportunities.
  • Build strong relationships with physicians, medical staff leaders, and administrative leaders across the health system.
  • Lead through influence within a highly matrixed organizational structure.

Financial & Business Performance

  • Oversee hospital financial performance, operational efficiency, resource utilization, and facility management.
  • Ensure responsible stewardship of resources while supporting growth and innovation.
  • Collaborate with enterprise leaders to achieve budgetary, operational, and strategic goals.
  • Monitor and improve operational performance through data-driven decision making.

Community & External Relations

  • Serve as the primary ambassador for Inova Loudoun Hospital within the local community.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with community leaders, elected officials, business organizations, and key stakeholders.
  • Promote Inova's mission and strengthen the hospital's position as the preferred healthcare provider in the region.

Governance, Regulatory & Compliance Leadership

  • Serve as the legal and operational leader for hospital reporting, regulatory compliance, accreditation, and risk management activities.
  • Ensure adherence to all federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Inova policies and standards.
  • Lead enterprise-wide initiatives and strategic projects as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Healthcare Administration or Business Administration
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive healthcare leadership experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated success leading hospital operations within a complex healthcare system.
  • Experience overseeing a community hospital with a broad range of acute care, emergency, surgical, women's, and specialty services.
  • Track record of successfully leading organizational transformation, growth initiatives, and performance improvement efforts.
  • Experience driving quality, patient experience, physician engagement, workforce culture, operational performance, and financial results.
