Registered Nurse Job, 12 Hour Nights Shift (7p-7:30a), EVERY WEEKEND (Friday/Saturday nights + 1 shift during the week), Mother Baby
Powers Health is hiring a Registered Nurse for Mother Baby to work Nights at Community Hospital in Munster, IN.
The Mother Baby Unit cares for new moms and their newborn infants. The average age is 28 years old for post delivered patients. The most frequent admissions are the post-delivery patients, which are a combination of normal vaginal delivery (NVD) and Cesarean Sections. Undelivered patients admitted most frequently include: Hypertensions (HTN), pre-eclampsia, diabetes, hyperemesis. Pre and Post-Operative gynecology patients are also admitted, routine infant care includes the use of phototherapy for hyperbilirubinemia, and care of male infants during and after circumcision.
Registered Nurse Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for implementing, directing, communicating and documenting the nursing process.
  • Provides a safe environment for patients, visitors and associates.
  • Practices in accordance with current established standards of care, the Nurse Practice Act, the Powers Health policies and procedures, and supports the mission and philosophy of PH by providing the highest quality care.
  • Provides for the well-being of the community, services the needs of all people and demonstrates the values: dignity, compassionate care, community, quality and stewardship.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current professional licensure by the State of Indiana Health Professions Bureau.
  • BSN preferred.
  • Obtains and maintains current certification as required in specialty areas.
  • Obtains and maintains current CPR.
