Experienced Scrum Master/Team Coach

Boeing's Battlespace Simulation Software team is seeking an Experienced Scrum Master/Team Coach to oversee and guide Scrum teams in Hazelwood, Missouri.

The Scrum Master's responsibilities include ensuring that software development teams follow Scrum framework values and Agile practices. Routine duties include facilitating meetings, creating and analyzing sprint metrics to aid in decision-making, and removing team impediments, with continued emphasis on process improvement opportunities. This role requires the knowledge and ability to facilitate effective backlog grooming, including backlog definition, refinement, and prioritization of stories to support sprint cycles and meet iteration delivery schedules.

A successful Scrum Master is an empathic leader who can influence without authority, plan effectively, and communicate with clarity and confidence. They possess a strong understanding of Agile principles, excel at mentoring and supporting development teams, and use metrics such as eazyBI to measure progress and enable continuous improvement. In addition, they bring strong interpersonal, project management, and problem-solving skills to help teams succeed.

Position Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Product Owner or other technical leads to support product backlog definition, refinement, and prioritization to feed sprint cycles.
  • Proactively eliminate barriers, coach team members on best practices, and run Scrum ceremonies for 2-3 teams.
  • Participate in and/or lead Community of Practice (CoP) meetings and drive process improvements across the organization.
  • Coordinate and lead Agile ceremonies, track team metrics, create tickets, and prepare and present status reports to stakeholders.
  • Review and prioritize work through the backlog, solve problems to drive outcomes, track team output and progress, and identify continuous process improvement opportunities.
  • Coach the Scrum team in self-organization, cross-functional skill development, and domain knowledge.
  • Work closely with the Release Train Engineer (RTE) to define, maintain, and communicate performance metrics to development teams, program stakeholders, and leadership.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance post-start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

  • Bachelor's degree or higher
  • 5+ years of experience in a Scrum Master role
  • Experience working in an Agile software development methodology environment
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Certified SAFe Scrum Master
  • Skilled at use of Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, Atlassian Tools (JIRA/Confluence)

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 8+ years of experience on a product development team using Agile/Scrum
  • Experience as a Scrum Master supporting software development teams using DevOps or DevSecOps tools and concepts
  • Advanced Agile certifications such as Agilist, Scrum Master, Advanced Scrum Master, Product Owner/Product Manager, or SAFe Practice Consultant
