Job description

About Nexus IT

Nexus IT is a private equity–backed managed services and cybersecurity platform executing a disciplined buy-and-build strategy in the IT services sector. We acquire and integrate high-quality MSPs across the U.S., driving operational excellence, cross-sell synergies, and scalable infrastructure across our portfolio. We move fast, hold high standards, and build lasting businesses. Nexus is deploying $60-100M of dry powder into acquiring lower middle-market healthcare & regulated MSP's and MSSP's.

The Role

Nexus is hiring an Integration Manager to own the end-to-end post-close integration of acquired companies. Reporting directly to our COO and CDO, you'll be the connective tissue between deal close and operational steady-state — managing work streams across systems, people, processes, and data. This is a high-visibility, high-impact role built for someone who thrives in ambiguity, operates with urgency, and knows how to get things done inside a PE-backed platform. This position can start as contract basis and convert to full-time.

Reports to: COO and CDO

What The Role Will Own

  • Lead post-close integration for all acquired MSP businesses, from Day 1 planning through full operational integration
  • Build and maintain a repeatable integration playbook covering IT systems, HR/benefits, finance, sales, and service delivery
  • Drive systems rationalization across acquired entities — PSA, RMM, billing, ERP, and cybersecurity tooling
  • Coordinate with the CDO to ensure clean data migration and taxonomy alignment across platforms
  • Manage integration project plans, escalation paths, and executive status reporting for each active deal
  • Partner with acquired company leadership to manage change, preserve culture, and retain key talent through transitions
  • Track and surface integration-related risks to the COO and PE sponsor in real time
  • Own synergy tracking — document projected vs. realized EBITDA impact from each integration effort
  • Develop and refine standard operating procedures (SOPs) for recurring post-close activities

What We're Looking For

  • 5–10 years of experience in M&A integration, management consulting, corporate development, or operations at a PE-backed company
  • Demonstrated success managing multiple concurrent integration workstreams in a fast-paced, acquisition-heavy environment
  • Ability to operate at both a strategic and tactical level — from executive stakeholder management to hands-on project execution
  • High EQ and change management capability — you know how to bring acquired teams along, not just run over them
  • Strong financial literacy; ability to model integration costs, track synergies, and communicate EBITDA impact
  • Exceptional communication skills — written, verbal, and executive-facing
  • Plus: Strong command of IT/MSP business operations — PSA platforms (ConnectWise, Autotask), RMM tools, and service delivery models are a major plus
  • Plus: Experience with data migration, systems consolidation, and ERP/CRM rationalization strongly preferred
  • MBA or equivalent experience preferred; not required for the right candidate
