Job Description
We are seeking an experienced NOC Technician IV to provide advanced network monitoring, fault isolation, and service restoration for the Missile Defense Agency at Scott AFB, IL, and Hill AFB, UT. This 100% onsite position supports a 24/7/365 operational environment, ensuring the security, availability, and reliability of mission-essential communications.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Create, update, and manage tickets in Remedy; triage issues independently.
  • Monitor real-time network events using multiple tools.
  • Perform incident correlation, root cause analysis, and corrective coordination.
  • Support fault isolation, diagnosis, and restoration of network elements.
  • Document incidents, reroutes, and resolutions in CMDB.
  • Provide Tier 1/Tier 2 support and timely escalation for outages or degradations.
  • Deliver situational awareness reports to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Mentor junior network controllers and assist in SOP/tool improvements.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across multiple DISN technologies (routers, switches, crypto devices, DWDM, optical switching, etc.).
  • Support projects impacting future DISN operations.

Requirements
Basic Qualifications
  • Active Secret clearance; able to obtain/maintain Top Secret.
  • DoD-8570 IAT Level 2 certification (Security+ CE or equivalent) at start.
  • Experience in alarm surveillance, fault management, LAN maintenance, or performance management.
  • Advanced knowledge in 4+ areas: routers, switches, crypto devices, routing, DSN/DRSN, Video Services, Promina, CISCO, Juniper, MSPP, DWDM, Optical Switching.
  • Understanding of transport and IP network topologies.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts in a 24/7 operation.
  • Education/Experience: High school diploma + 3-5 years relevant experience.
