Job description

We are seeking anIntegration Engineerat our Brooklyn Park, MN location to be a member of the team integrating and verifying Quantinuum state of art Quantum Computers. For this role, we are seeking software or electrical engineers with expertise in RF and dc analog electronics, a solid understanding of control hardware, and experience working in an R&D or advanced technical manufacturing lab environment. This position will work closely with the integration and validation physicist team of engineers and physicists to assist in validating systems to the level required for quantum operations on our trapped ion and laser systems. Although the work will mostly involve lab electrical and hardware testing, the candidate should have a good understanding of the relevant software interfaces. This position will be primarily on site at our Brooklyn Park, Minnesota location.
All applicants for placement in safety-sensitive positions will be required to submit to a pre-employment drug test.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Work in a lab environment integrating state of art quantum computer control hardware
  • Leverage your understanding of interconnected RF, analog, and digital hardware control systems to develop test plans supporting verification and validation of subsystems
  • Collaborate with physicists and multidisciplinary teams to diagnose and resolve issues with control systems impacting quantum computer operations
  • Successfully complete projects on time with limited supervision
  • Up to 10% of travel, primarily to our CO site

YOU MUST HAVE:
  • Bachelor's degree minimum
  • 2+ years of experience in Physics, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline
  • 2+ years of experience working with RF or electronic lab hardware, inclusive of academic work
  • Due to Contractual requirements, must be a U.S. Person defined as, U.S. citizen permanent resident or green card holder, workers granted asylum or refugee status
  • Due to national security requirements imposed by the U.S. Government, candidates for this position must not be a People's Republic of China national or Russian national unless the candidate is also a U.S. citizen.

WE VALUE:
  • Master's degree in electrical engineering or related field preferred
  • Proficiency in Pythonprogramming languages
  • Experience writing low-level device drivers for various interfaces (SPI, I2C, High Speed serial, Etc.)
  • Experience working with optical hardware such as lasers, cameras, optical fibers, active and passive optical components, etc.
  • Experience working with hardware utilizing cryogenic and vacuum systems
  • Strong interest in learning about new hardware & software tools. Must bean enthusiastic problem solver!
  • Ability to use typical lab equipment like Oscilloscopes, DMM, spectrum analyzers, etc.
  • Proficiency with software testing and deployment tools.
  • Proficiency in developing software for both Linux and Windows environments.
  • Effective communication skills,both written and verbal
